James V. Koch is Board of Visitors Professor of Economics and President Emeritus at Old Dominion University. He was name done of the 100 most effective college presidents in USA. He has focused primarily upon applied microeconomics and affirmative action. He has held positions as academician and researcher at Illinois State University, California State University and Brown University. He has published twelve books and 100 articles in refereed journals and worked as a consultant for more than 100 law firms, private corporations and universities. His research on the risk-taking behavior of corporate CEOs was funded by the Kauffman Foundation and drawn attention by steel companies. Dr. Koch served as a member of the board of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company and its successor, Esmark.
